Taishan Mountain

We started about half way up but that still leaves 3000 steps to climb.

The porters carry loads of up to 150 pounds making the 11mi round trip two or three times per day.

Stones for rebuilding the stairs in the foreground and worker housing in the background.

The red temple in the background is the first summit area.

Through the red temple in the picture above. Still lots of steps to the real summit.

Inscriptions near the summit.

The highest summit at 1545 meters (5068 feet)

The mountain ridge continues.

A Taoist temple at the top.

The inside of the temple. When couples get married, they put a lock with their names on it on this

urn. They then throw away the key.
